How will this play in Iowa?

New York can keep their gay marriage according to Texas Governor Rick Perry.

“Our friends in New York six weeks ago passed a statute that said marriage can be between two people of the same sex. And you know what? That’s New York, and that’s their business, and that’s fine with me. That is their call. If you believe in the 10th Amendment, stay out of their business,” Perry said at an event held by the Aspen Institute in Aspen, Colo., on Friday.

I read somewhere that the American Family Association had not decided if Gov. Perry was going to speak at his prayer meeting. With this news, they might not let him in.

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha….. it is only a matter of time before Governor Rick Perry and his conservative crew are forced to recant their pledges and accept the funny misnomer—“marriage equality”. I feel very sorry for Americans who oppose gayism and gay marriage. I am sorry because they are at least 35 years too late in fighting a fringe movement which was granted legal space to evolve into a formidable mainstream unstoppable juggernaut, ruthlessly knocking down every resistance along its path. I once lived in United States so I have a full understanding of what is taking place over there. In Uganda, we are committed to waging this war fully and legally so that our future does not end up like what we were watching recently on satellite TV unfolding in the Big Apple….

    Maazi NCO,
What does this word mean? I think it might be a word you use but no one else might understand. It is not in the dictionary so I have no way to understand what you are referring to. Please go into as much description as you can so we all have a clear knowledge about what you are referring to instead of making subjective assumptions.

In Uganda and in many parts of Africa, we use the omnibus term “gayism” to refer to sexual deviance involving people of the same gender. It is our way of rejecting western-constructed terminology designed to legitimize sexual depravity which we consider un-African, inhuman and insane. Buzz words such as “sexual orientation”, “LGBT”, “GLBT”, “sexual minorities”, “gender-neutral” and “transgender” are meaningless to us. I always laugh when I watch CNN International and see Europeans and Americans using those terms as if they are universally accepted throughout the world. Of course, at the United Nations, we routinely do our best to block any universal acceptance of such poisonous terms.

I am confident that if you conduct a google search of the term “gayism”, you will come up with a lot of results. The term “gayism” is a mainstream word on the African continent. Even our learned judges in Uganda—many of whom were educated abroad— have included that particular word in their judgements. Of course, there are some Africans who also use the terms favoured by Europeans and Americans, but I am definitely not one of them.

  4. This did not please declared candidate Rick Santorum, who last night tweeted, “So Gov Perry, if a state wanted to allow polygamy or if they chose to deny heterosexuals the right to marry, would that be OK too?”
He ended his message with the hashtag #tcot, which stands for “top conservatives on Twitter.”

  5. Michael Bussee, thank you I really enjoyed the pictures on the link you provided.
Love, is love, it knows no gender. Let the people marry if they want to. After looking at the pics Michel posted when you see the happiness on the people’s faces, especially the older ones, I shake my head and wonder why it has taken this long. Two people love each other and want to make it official, who cares if it is two women or two men, we should just be thankful that they did find someone to love, and want to spend the rest of their life with.

  6. Maazi NCO,
Thank you for the explanation and definition. I will now be able to understand better what you write.
