  1. Maddow was very good: cool, objective and truthful in her questioning. Bahati looked quite rattled at times! Little wonder!

  2. Hello Maazi

How’s your ‘evidence’ coming along? Bahati didn’t have any either! My, my – what an oversight on his part!!

And why should any sensible person (Ugandan or otherwise) ‘tolerate’ someone who advocates murder?

  3. Maddow: *clear question, that could, in most cases, have been answered ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

    Bahati: *waffle* *evasion* *unsubstantiated claims*

  4. The trip was paid for by the UG Government, I understand.

Perhaps it was a ‘set up’? There are rumours, reported in the UG press in November, that B. has been ‘plotting’ against M7. Maybe the idea was to make B. look stupid. If so, it worked, in my view.

  5. So we have an unprincipled, self-serving politician bankrolled by foreign interests using the lives of gay people to further his ambitions. Color me shocked. He’s a complete nonentity and I regret that Maddow gave him this platform which he will use back home to make himself look important.

What is clear is that the ‘recruitment’ lie is fundamental to the ex-gay racket. Without recruitment there is no choice. Without choice there’s no praying away the gay. It’s easy to criticize Bahati for his transparent ignorance and cupidity. Lets now look at who put him up to it.

I still want to know who paid for his ticket, that suit, etc.

  6. On the ‘foreigners’ point (raised by the lovely Maazi): Bahati has to justify his murderous scheme to foreigners in order for it work as he would wish.

  7. Bahati denies the ‘plot’ rumours, of course (and they do, at first glance, seem a bit fanciful to me, if I’m honest).

  9. Ha ha ha….

I love the way he answered the questions. As Maazi says, so cool and collected. And, the liberal, bad, evil Maddow….

    ha ha ha!

Talk about seeing what you want to see! I mean, this log in my eye is no hinderance. I do love it when these guys go out of their way to prove how they are. Maazi here. Ssempa, Bahati

Contrary to the evidence, not all of us Ugandans are bumbling idiots

    [huff, huff, puff]

  10. GUg

I know many very intelligent Ugandans. Quite a lot of them are straight! Lol!

It seems Warren is getting hot in the collar. Many Westerners are well-known for their arrogance and hypocrisy. They call for tolerance, but are very intolerant themselves. In any case, Bahati was calm and collected in the face of questioning from the arrogant Rachel Maddow who struggled throughout the interview to present a facade of moderation, neutrality and tolerance. To be frank, Bahati should never have appeared on that TV show because he does not have to justify himself to foreigners. He only has to justify himself to the constituency he represents in the Ugandan parliament and the wider Ugandan population.
