Ugandan paper goes on outing campaign

A relatively new tabloid in Uganda has taken a bad situation and made it worse. The Rolling Stone (no relation to the US music magazine) has a cover story with pictures. Here is the cover supplied by a reader:

It is hard to see but the subcaption says: Hang Them.

GayUganda and Boxturtlebulletin has more…

  1. Maazi – I agree with you. Thanks for the warning.

One thing though. The “hang them” campaign is now targeting Anglican Bishop Christopher Senyonjo. That’s his picture on the front page, is it not?

If he’s not safe….are you sure you won’t be next? For not being sufficiently “anti-gayist” and associating with those on this site?

Look at what has happened on every single other occasion when campaigns like this have been waged.

  2. The mere fact that someone should be able to sell a tabloid with such statements and that some people in Uganda or perhaps many should think much the same way, makes it enough to worry about

  3. I agree with Maazi, there is no need to overreact on this. You could ask yourselves how long this tabloid has been in business. It is just hitting the streets now and same old stories done in there. It’s just a tabloid with their usual thing..not much actually.

However it just amazes me how Dr. Warren likes creating tensions even on things that are not yet proved. Red pepper has regularly published faces of homos with the same threats and nothing has happened. Dr. Warren just wants to make Uganda and her leaders look bad before the eyes of the World. The reactionary attitude in him does not support the Ugandan homo at all. Infact it continues to widen the already wider gap between straight and “bent”. The truth however stands, we do not support homosexuality in Uganda and will oppose it all the time.

Mr. Christopher Senyojo is a well-known pro-gay puppet commentator who have featured prominently in Ugandan and international media. I fail to see how the so-called exposé from Rolling Stone tabloid is a danger to the life of the elderly puppet commentator of pro-gay Episcopal Church of America. I am confident that Mr. Senyojo will not be physically harmed by anyone in Uganda. Same goes for those who have been named—rightly or wrongly—-as prominent gay sex practitioners. One must learn not to take these tabloid stories too seriously.

Nothing has happened after publication of all these so-called Gay Expose stories in Ugandan Tabloids. Absolutely nothing. Do not believe euro-american gay propagandists who are always ready to whip up hysteria and spread false stories in order to draw sympathy and uproar among Western ignoramuses who cannot tell the difference between Uganda and Tanzania on a map.

  11. It is a tabloid. Tabloids the world over indulge in sensationalism. Red Pepper newspaper regularly uses similar sensationalist tone in their articles, yet no alleged gay sex practitioner has been arrested or hanged based on these stories. No need to overreact. I think you chaps should be more worried about the spate of youth suicides in your country and the fact that Republicans are blocking sex deviants from serving openly in the US Armed Forces and the fact that 31 States in America ban “same-sex marriage”.
