James Stabile speaks out; apologizes for actions

In a Dallas Voice article out today, James Stabile talks to John Wright about his experiences with Heartland World Ministries Church and Pure Life Ministries. Rev. Joe Oden is quoted as well. Oden’s statements in the DV article are consistent with the interview he gave to me on the 18th.

The Light the Highway folks have removed most references to James Stabile from their Purity Siege website.

Prior posts on this story are here, here and here.

  1. I personally don’t understand or necessarily agree with WMC and PLM’s protocols, however I see it a far stretch, to say this was ” damaging”, to use Mike A’s words. Actually, WMC and PLM could use the some arguments against James. But, fat chance.

As for the Dallas Voice, what propaganda! Cut me a break!

  2. Thanks for the update.

I await evidence from either Oden or Pure Life Ministries that they have learned lessons and are repenting of the harm that they have done.

This case exposed, in Oden, heresy and reckless ignorance that endanger the people whom he falsely claims to heal and purify.

This situation exposed, in the case of Pure Life, abuse and financial exploitation through treatment methods that are not only counterproductive (worsening sexual dysfunction) but damaging to the souls that PLM purposely undermines and humiliates.

  3. One of the most telling and honest quotes I picked up from the article:

I’m not here to get any attention,” he added. “I’m here to say to people that I want to help prevent other young gay guys from experiencing what I experienced, because I don’t want them to be hurt, and I was hurt really badly.”
