In Africa, bad manners are bad manners, no matter who or how many do them. The action of one even in privacy has profound impact on society.

So, gay sex (I happen to believe it is sin) equals "bad manners" in Africa. What, pray tell, are lying, hate-baiting and spiritual murder called in Uganda?

In Uganda, we do not believe in trading our values and moral distinction for the sake of donations and funding.

That's commendable. Do you believe in the morality of an ethereal utopian society based on fratricide? Is that not what Uganda is seeking with this bill? How will you police the private actions of your citizens?

There is a God in heaven. And He will judge us all. He is not made in the image of Ugandans. You (we) are made in His image. Of course, God just may allow Uganda to go forward with its ill-conceived plan of homosexual extinction. He may allow you to reap what you sow.

It sounds terrible there. Why do the laws have to focus on homosexuality? Why not just punish child abuse and sexual assault?

The western world fails to understand fundamental cores of Afrocentric views of morality and human rights. In Africa, bad manners are bad manners, no matter who or how many do them. The action of one even in privacy has profound impact on society.
Therefore, this business of demonizing the bill with ridiculous statements such as 'dracula', 'hate' in the name of defending evil must stop. In Uganda, we do not believe in trading our values and moral distinction for the sake of donations and funding.
Actually, what's on ground is that people just can't wait for the bill to be passed. Children are no longer safe in schools, you can hardly move at night in the city...
The bill must soon become law

Somehow what seems obvious to Green and Moul is not registering with Ssempa and supporters of the bill. Despite the draconian restrictions and requirements, the bill seems likely to pass due to support from religious leaders like Martin Ssempa. Ssempa told me, “This bill seeks to put Africa and Uganda to be custodians of values and family knowledge as handed down from our fathers and our faith.”

The supporter for a bill - written so as to either imprison a person of a hated group for life or put such a person to death - obviously does not care if the bill would keep such a person from getting help avoiding the disease or treating his disease. Such a supporter sees no difference between a court-approved death sentence carried out by a firing squad or that death sentence which might ultimately come via AIDS for a gay person. Forcing gays into a closet filled with HIV/AIDS might be more preferable for such a supporter of this bill; they might believe that the law would thus work either actively or passively to rid their country of gay people.
